Follow up research showed that families had taken notice and many have adopted more healthy eating habits and healthy eating child friendly:

• Following the success of the TV show Jamie's School Dinners, and the public debate that ensued on healthy eating, people's attitudes to nutrition have changed, according to research by private medical insurer PruHealth.

• Some 28% of adults say they think more about the meals they prepare at home as a direct result of the series.

• Just under a quarter (23%) say they are making more effort to find out about nutritious foods. The same number say they have stopped buying some unhealthy foods.
