Easy Steps to Eating Healthy and Eating Healthy Organic Meals

What’s the best healthy eating advice for kids?

Here is a starting check list and links:

REMEMBER that food is best shared and not gobbled on the run. Make a simple plan with clear boundaries, such as “dinner at home 5 nights a week” or start eating healthy organic meals "one day a week."

• TRY buying ONE new leafy GREEN vegetable at a time – organic spinach or kale, or chard, and find a new place for it:

1) chop fine and blend into a soup e.g. cream of mushroom, or add to

2) a stir fry with carrots, broccoli, onions, soy sauce, yummy, or

3) put into a wrap, sandwich, burrito, fajita or make

4) "green mashed potatoes that kids love" by adding finely chopped kale to mashed potatoes. (add chopped kale for the last 5 minutes of steaming the potatoes. Drain, add milk, salt, butter and mash and serve with sausage or tofu sausage that was steamed/heated with the potatoes.)

• QUIT making excuses about greasy “fast foods” being cheaper instead of just plain addictive. Making healthy organic meals does take more planning, but it can be FAST and cut the big costs at the take-out window!

AND FOR KIDS -- find out how to start making small changes for FAT KIDS: use healthy eating child friendly examples that have been proven to work.

• QUIT soda, quit pop, quit chips, fries and cookies and change to drinking water, milk or eating an organic crunchy apple, grapes or dried berries with nuts when hungry -- and get a healthy cookies recipe.

Get serious about HEALTHY EATING ADVICE FOR KIDS to avoid their having health problems for the rest of their lives – and avoid being teased for being fat NOW!

• TRY making A BIG POT OF LENTIL OR VEGGY SOUP to have on hand in the fridge for when hunger strikes:

Get dried lentils, add 3 times as much water, and simmer for a half hour with some chopped onion, carrots or garlic. You can keep it simple or add some more greens and veggies toward the end (not to overcook) or some canned tomatoes. Add organic veggie cubes for flavor or just the veggies and lentils for eating healthy organic meals made easy.

• TRY making an easy meal from a salad with handy EARTHBOUND ORGANIC GREENS and simply add your choice of canned salmon, boiled eggs, a can of chick peas or kidney beans and sunflower seeds for substance.

• QUIT thinking that GREASY FAST FOOD IS FAST rather than plain addictive and super-sized. Instead, get FRUIT and blend up some organic fruit with yogurt or kefir to get good bacteria: banana to add sweet, blue berries, straw berries, and have on hand to enjoy, yum yum.

• TRY more STIR FRIED VEGGIES with different flavors and sauces: add curry powder to the cooking oil or soy sauce later (tamari) for great taste. Use broccoli, cauliflower and add canned chick peas or beans or prawns, white fish and some fresh greens last if not vegetarian. Or start with small pieces of chicken breast and add veggies for a big meal. Put in whole wheat wraps, or with brown rice if you don’t need to lose weight.

• QUIT thinking that ALL FATS ARE BAD, but use only the best organic coconut oil or butter for cooking or pure virgin olive oil in salads and quit buying the prepared stuff. Just add your own oil and vinegar or lemon to salads, add soy sauce and sprinkle with sesame seeds, sunflower seeds or ground flax seeds for variety.
