Breast Cancer and Nutrition: Dramatic New Discoveries of Natural Cancer Cures and Prevention
Dramatic new breast cancer and nutrition discoveries are showing how women can reduce their risk of breast cancer by as much 77 per cent!
• Scientists were stunned at finding simple interventions through new medical research, with discoveries that amount to being natural cancer cures. What are they?
1) Scientists found out why shift work and exposure to artificial light causes high rates breast cancer, and what to do to prevent it. Fortunately there are simple supplements shown to prevent the high incidence of breast cancer among shift workers such as nurses.
2) High levels of supplementation of one overlooked vitamin has been recently found to reduce not only breast cancer, but ALL cancers by a HUGE percentage.
3) Major discoveries for breast cancer and nutrition:
• Low levels of cysteine have been found in women with breast cancer. Women are demonstrating that by adding a specially prepared cysteine-rich protein to their diet, they “breeze” through their treatment with fewer side effects, need less chemo and radiation, and speed their recovery from breast cancer.
• Sulforaphane (SUL), a compound found in broccoli and other vegetables from the cruciferous family, has the ability to block cell growth in late stage human breast cancer cells, say scientists.
Women who work the graveyard shift face an up to 60 percent increased risk of breast cancer.
• Researchers found that women who worked the graveyard shift at least once during the decade before breast-cancer diagnosis were at approximately 60 percent increased risk for breast cancer compared with those who did not work the graveyard shift.
• In addition, the risk of breast cancer significantly increased with each additional hour per week of graveyard-shift work!
(Scott Davis, Ph.D., Journal of the National Cancer Institute)
• Exposure to artificial light, scientists found, causes us to have a low production of the hormone melatonin.
Melatonin is activated when it is dark to induce sleep. Melatonin shuts down breast cancer cells.
Therefore, women who work graveyard shifts and stay in the light at night, have less natural melatonin and have a much higher risk of breast cancer.
• Fortunately, it has been shown that by increasing your melatonin levels you can prevent breast cancer.
The effect of melatonin on the prevention of breast cancer has been clinically demonstrated.
One experiment showed that exposure to constant light promoted breast cancers, but when women were given extra melatonin, this substantially prevented it.
(Neuroendocrinology Letters – an International Medical Journal December 2001)
• The hormone melatonin is normally produced by the brain at night, and puts breast cancer cells to sleep. It also slows breast cancer growth by 70%.
• One of the best breast cancer and nutrition supplements is tart cherry concentrate which provides one of the highest sources of natural melatonin, and easy to add to a drink every day, along with other tumor inhibiting properties.
Breast Cancer and Nutrition: Vitamin D Prevents Cancer
Vitamin D reduces cancer, ALL cancers!
When researchers at Creighton University in Nebraska studied 1,024 women, those randomly assigned to take calcium and vitamin D for four years, and who had higher levels of both in their blood:
-- were 77 % LESS LIKELY to develop cancer after the first year compared to those taking placebos or calcium alone. Calcium and vitamin D may help lower breast cancer risk before menopause (35% lower) according to a US study.
• Women who consume more calcium and vitamin D may be less likely to develop breast cancer before menopause, a new U.S. study suggests.
"The lower risk was more pronounced in more aggressive breast tumors," the study's authors wrote. Faster growing tumors tend to be diagnosed more often in younger women.
• Test tube studies suggest that calcium and vitamin D may work with insulin-like growth factors to discourage the growth of breast-cancer cells, the researchers said.

Stopping Breast Cancer with Nutrition
Vitamin D is important in fighting breast cancer, scientists say, in that it actively helps to curb the progression of the disease.
• Researchers from Imperial College, London, have carried out a small but significant study showing that vitamin D levels in the blood of women with early breast cancer are higher than in those with advanced disease.
(Carlo Palmieri, department of cancer medicine at Imperial college.)
There has already been evidence that vitamin D - and sunlight - have a beneficial effect with regard to breast cancer.
• Countries that are further north and enjoy fewer hours of sunshine have a higher incidence of breast cancer and women living in them are at greater risk of dying from the disease than those in the sunnier southern climes.
Breast Cancer and Nutrition:
Most experts believe the current recommendation of 400 units of vitamin D a day for people up to age 50, and 600 units daily for those over 70, is probably too low, according to the Canadian Cancer Society, which suggests somewhere between 400 units and 2,000 units a day.
Breast Cancer Treatment Best with Cysteine Protein
High serum levels of cysteine are linked to a lower risk of breast cancer, according to research drawn from the 27-year-old Nurses Health Study, which involved 32,000-patients.
Shumin Zhang, MD, ScD, from Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School and Harvard School of Public Health)
• These findings support what people have discovered -- that boosting cysteine levels have helped their recovery from breast cancer.
Taking cysteine in pill form can be toxic, and the best way to take extra cysteine is with a cysteine-rich nurtraceutical.
Adding a
protein with cysteine
to her diet has worked wonders for Gloria’s friend, because after taking it for only 10 days her white blood count improved so drastically that her Doctor could not believe it!
Her chemo had been delayed because of low blood counts, but since taking the protein she could tolerate more INTENSE chemo, and was happy to learn that she now NEEDED FEWER radiation treatments.
Here’s Wendy’s experience with taking a nutraceutical with cysteine:
Wendy’s In Remission After Metastatic Breast Cancer & Ovarian Cancer
The prognosis for Wendy was not good.
A few years earlier she had recovered from breast cancer, but when she was hospitalized this time for ovarian cancer, the prognosis was not good.
Tumors had spread into her liver by the time her friend contacted her about using a
nutraceutical with cysteine
, and she agreed that it could not hurt, and agreed to take the protein that has been tested alongside cancer treatments.
• She took the recommended dose four times a day, before and during her chemotherapy treatments.
• Within a month she improved dramatically, and within several months she was back at work.
• After six months she was declared cancer free, and the doctors were amazed. The friends who had helped her buy the
cysteine rich nutraceutical
were thankful to have their friend back.
NOTE: Taking cysteine in pill form is not and can be toxic -- it has to be in a natural form, in a nutraceutical.

Breast Cancer and Nutrition: Broccoli Stops Breast Cancer?
Researchers Keith Singletary and Steven Jackson of the University of Illinois found that sulforaphane (SUL), a compound found in broccoli and other vegetables from the cruciferous family, has the ability to BLOCK CELL GROWTH in LATE STAGE human breast cancer cells.
They believe that sulforaphane could be used not only to help PREVENT breast cancer, but to aid in the TREATMENT of the disease.
(September 2004 Journal of Nutrition)
Broccoli Sprouts
are the best source of sulforaphane.
Breast Cancer and Nutrition: Eat These For The Rest Of Your Life
Studies clearly show that eating more cruciferous vegetables, especially broccoli (sprouted, raw or stir-fried) and cabbage (raw as in coleslaw or fermented as in sauerkraut), should reduce a person’s chance of developing cancers of the breast—as well as:
• Cancer of the cervix
• Colon cancer
• Lung cancer
• Prostate cancer
• cancer of the tongue
• bone marrow cancer
Breast cancer and nutrition have been linked since 1982 when it was shown that a diet high in cabbage, brussels sprouts, cauliflower, mustard greens, kale, lettuce, celery and tomatoes inhibits cancer.
• Cabbage and brussels sprouts activate the liver’s phase I enzymes while broccoli activates the liver’s phase II enzymes, which may be the most crucial for breaking down hormones through the beneficial C-2 pathway.
• Savoy cabbage has twice as many active ingredients as white cabbage, and long-term cooking, especially boiling, reduces their benefits 34 to 44%.
• Chopping and fermenting the cabbage maintains its active ingredients.
• Freezing or freeze-drying maintains the medicinal properties and stir-frying is the least damaging form of cooking.
Top cancer scientists admit that people are “mesmerized” by fancy “high tech” cancer treatments while they and their doctors overlook simple, effective and clinically proven nutritional ways to stop breast cancer.
• Simple, natural cancer cures like melatonin, cysteine-rich protein and broccoli are just not as “sexy” and dramatic, they say, so that breast cancer and nutrition has taken the back seat to curing breast cancer symptoms and rates that scientists now say, need not be nearly as high!
